Tackle box Cake

This cake went along with the purse cake - a hubby and wife thing. I love the way the tackle box turned out. The Coors light can was tricky. I love the fishing lures - very realistic!

80th Birthday Cake!

I made this cake for my friend Melanie. She threw a party for her mother who was turning 80. It's a very personal cake. The top tier represent her 8 children.
The middle tier has potted violets with her favorite things listed on the pots.
The bottom tier has two scenes - Arizona and the coast of Maine where her mother has lived.
I thought it turned out pretty cool!

Shark Cake

April, Heather, and I worked on this cake together. I decorated the shark, April decorated the bottom tier, and Heather made the white chocolate sea shells. Seriously the coolest grooms cake!

Working at the Shop

I got to put some hours in at the cake shop this weekend! I always have so much fun when I am down there. April is so good at what she does and it's fun to learn from the best! Here's a few things I got to work on - Denim and Diamonds cake and 140 sunflower cupcakes! Love them!

Golf Cake

Here's a cake I did for a friend's 50th birthday. It looked bigger in real life. I had never sculpted people before, so I was happy that they remained standing. The tree was something I had never done as well. First I sculpted it out of rice crispies, then covered it in fondant. I cut out each leaf and added veining to it. Then I put the names of all his family members (the family tree). It looked pretty cool. Shwew!
